(Phal. equestris var cyanochilus 'Martel's Blue' X Phal. equestris var cyanochilus 'ABC')
This is a sib cross made with two cultivars of equestris var cyanochilus. These are all diploid (2n) seedlings. This cross was made in hopes of increasing the blue pigmentation. So far most of these have been about the same intensity of the parents. We have seen a good amount of yellow pigmentation in this cross in the sepals and petals. These may be interesting for further yellow breeding.
Both parents look almost exactly the same. There is some debate as to the origin of all of the var cyanochilus that are in the US and its possible they are all the exact same cultivar. If that's the case, then this would be considered a sib cross and its more likely these will look like their parents and have will have less variety between the resulting seedlings.
